CBC is located at 8 Middle Laodong Road, approved and set by Changzhou Government. CBC is a public-welfare health institution, undertaking clinical blood supply for over 70 medical institutions in Changzhou urban area and study and guidance of blood transfusion technology in Changzhou. Red cell supply of CBC is 12 tons every year.

With several generations’ working hard，building and development of CBC is speeding up with better part work in Jiangsu Province. The building for blood collection and supply stands up in the east of urban area, by investment construction of city government, with 12000 square meters’ building area. The building is fully functioned; it has proper redistribution、 smooth process and advanced facilities. The decoration engineering of this building has been awarded “Zijin Cup” Prize which is the highest quality award for building decoration in Jiangsu Province，and its civil works has been also awarded “Jinlong Cup” Prize in Changzhou. Now there are four administration sections and seven service sections in CBC. The administration departments involve Office, Personnel＆Education, Information and General Affairs section. The service sections include Blood Donation Service、Physical Examination＆Blood Collection、Examination Center Lab、Component Preparation、Blood Supply、Blood Quality Management and Blood Transfusion Research Lab.

With high attention of Municipal Party Committee and Government, under correct guidance of Changzhou Health Bureau and great support of all sectors of the community, voluntary blood donation work of Changzhou have developed by leaps and bounds. After implementation of the “Blood Donation Law of PRC”, the “Voluntary Blood Donation Administration Methods of Changzhou Citizen” was promulgated and implemented, and the whole society gradually is forming the good atmosphere of voluntary blood donation benefitting the nation and people. Paid blood supplement in Changzhou urban area was all cancelled in 2003, so clinical blood transfusion is all from voluntary blood donation. Furthermore, blood donation from government plans was also cancelled in 2005, and clinical blood transfusion is all from volunteer blood donation. CBC was awarded title of “Advanced City of Voluntary Blood Donation” of Jiangsu Province in 2005. Many parties are held by “Rare Blood Type Group Family of Changzhou”, which is found by CBC, and there are 105 persons in its QQ Group, which is the most in China. The Volunteer Service Corps of Voluntary Blood Donation participated by many heated citizens functions is active in all collection sites every day, and the work time of the volunteers is added up to 4059 hours.

There are many advanced equipments and facilities in CBC, including Automated Blood Cell Collector, complete sets of plasma virus-inactivated system, Low Temperature Keep Platform, Hundred-graded purification room, Automated Blood Component Separator, Automated sample System, Automated Enzyme Immunization Analysis System, Automated Biochemical Analyzer, Automated Blood Group Detector, Automated Bacterial Culture System、Fast Dynamic Microbiology Detector, Flow Cytometry, Automated Red Cell Processor, Large Blood-kept Refrigerated Warehouse, and so on. To improve blood transfusion quality, new blood component varieties including “Virus-inactivated Plasma” and “Pooled Platelet” were first introduced to CBC, the new technology named Fast Erythrocyte-washed Mechanical Method in addition. The rate of blood component transfusion was always more than 98 percent in 6 years. These above are the best in Jiangsu Province and reach international advanced level.

OHS18001 and ISO9001:2000 were first introduced to CBC in Blood Stations of Jiangsu Province and Health System of Changzhou respectively, and Transplant Matching Lab first passed through evaluation of Clinic Examination Center of the Ministry of Health in Blood System of Jiangsu Province. Meanwhile, the “city-level Popular Science Education Basis” and “primary/middle school students moral education Basis” were founded in CBC, which were the first in Changzhou Health System。CBC and Blood Center of River Valley Area of Kentucky State in USA became a friendly collaboration league in 2008. “Clinical apply of frozen platelet preparation” was awarded the first grade of New Medical Technology Introduction Prize of Changzhou Health System. “Apply of examination of Blood Group RH by Automated Sample-agglutination -scan-analysis System in Blood Stations” was awarded the second grade of New Medical Technology Introduction Prize of Jiangsu Province. “Clinical apply of Prestorage filtered Leukocyte blood transfusion technology” was awarded the second grade of New Medical Technology Introduction Prize of Changzhou. “Study of influence of HLA Compatibility on renal transplantation” was awarded the fourth grade of Science and Technology Advancement Prize in Changzhou. The domestic first “Margin Management System of Non-remunerated Blood Donation of Voluntary Blood Donation” developed by ourselves has successfully passed the evaluation of the panel of Jiangsu Health Department, and the click rate of Changzhou Blood Donation Net is the most in homogeneous websites of China.

The Construction of Four Civilizations were highly paid attention by CBC，so CBC was continuously awarded some titles including “Civilized Units of Changzhou”, “Civilized Window of Changzhou”, “Changzhou Advanced Unit in Patriotic Health” , “Changzhou Advanced Staff Home”, and “Advanced Unit in Staff Education of Changzhou”. Furthermore, CBC was awarded “Advanced Primary Party Organization” and “Good Leadership” of Changzhou Health Bureau. Physical Examination＆Blood Collection Section was awarded “Jiangsu Youth Civilization Unit” and “Changzhou Women Civilizations Demonstration Position”, and so on.

With the guidance of Municipal Party Committee and Government and Health Bureau and the care and support of all sectors of the community, many difficulties in more than twenty years were overcome by CBC. CBC is always advancing and developing, obtaining significantly performance.
